Thanks to Rebecca Leslie from the Nashville Chamber of Commerce for sharing this information with me. She gave a good overview to a group of supply chain management professionals a few weeks ago, and I thought this information would be extremely useful for everyone in this community.
I would like to recommend this presentation for our next P-16 meeting in July. Please let me know your thoughts. Regional Economic Development Information
I had the honor of taking a tour of the new Lebanon High School in Wilson county. It’s a very impressive building with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Congratulations to Mike Davis and the entire school system for another added benefit to education in Wilson county.
I encourage everyone to stop by to visit the new school.
I have received positive feedback about the discussion during last week’s meeting. As a result of the discussions, several actions are under way to develop a Math Academy for the represented county systems.
Again thank you to Dr. Lea for accommodating the needs of the school system, and agreeing to developing a Math Academy to better prepare the math teachers in elementary and middle school. Dr. Scism has also started the discussion with the Vol State’s grant writer to search for potential grants to fund this worthwhile effort. I will provide updates as the develop on the topic of Math Academy. The minutes will be posted soon for those who were unable to attend the meeting
The minutes will be approved during the April 13th meeting. Please remember the meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. – breakfast meeting.
