P-16 Meeting – January 20th

I am looking forward to the upcoming North Central P-16 Council meeting, which will be held in Gallatin on the 20th of January. Due to the renovation projects in the Thigpen Library, this quarter’s meeting will be held in the Wood Campus Center at Volunteer State Community College in the Carpeted Dining room. We have two great speakers for the agenda.

P-16 January 2012 Agenda

Sydney Rogers from Alignment Nashville and Bob Obrohta from the Tennessee Access & Success Network will give an update on the efforts of their organizations. With a focus on STEM education, Sydney Rogers will discuss a new initiative to develop a STEM network in the Middle Tennessee area. Bob Obrota’s presentation will center on new initiatives and grants related to increasing the college-going rate of Tennesseans. In both cases, the discussion will be useful to developing some future action items in educational development in our region.

Also, please don’t forget that nominees will be considered during the meeting for new co-chairs.
