In fact, your Thigpen Library is proud that we’re not a bookstore. Why? We don’t sell anything: we lend everything for free, including books as well as calculators, noise-canceling headphones, laptops, Audio-Visual equipment, and more. More importantly, we spend lots of money on databases to provide 24/7 online access to millions of articles & hundreds of thousands of ebooks in full text to VSCC employees and students. So, we’re proud to be able to remove $ as a barrier to information access through library resources and services.
Chat and text services provide you with the assistance you need to:
- choose and search databases effectively for information
- identify physical items that you can borrow and use (including some textbooks that your professors put on “course reserve” for short-term access)
- learn about library services, such as interlibrary loan
- learn about library spaces available for group or individual study.
