Community Service

Community Service has been a long-standing priority at Vol State.  Our students, faculty, and staff are vigorously engaged in serving and supporting our local communities and beyond.  Tennessee Promise students are required to accomplish community service hours supporting campus and community initiatives.  Student, faculty, and staff volunteer to staff The Feed, our campus food pantry.  In addition to volunteering for The Feed, student organizations and other entities donate and collect food items and personal hygiene supplies for the pantry which greatly benefit our students.

Moreover, students, faculty, and staff volunteer to help with our Community Garden, growing and collecting fresh vegetables for The Feed and other food-based initiatives.  Finally, The Office of Diversity and Inclusion works with other campus entities, student organizations, and other local campuses to co-sponsor joint community service projects in the Middle Tennessee region.  Feel free to inquire with our office how you might be able to contribute to our community service initiatives.
